A student was walking down Cleveland Ave. at 7:42 p.m. on Thursday when five black males attempted to steal her backpack. She screamed and the suspects fled towards Canal Street, according to reports from the Tulane University Police Department. 

The five men were described as black males, between 5’8″ and 6′. One was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and another was wearing a dark colored sweater. 

TUPD is investigating this case.
