A simple robbery occurred at 3 a.m. early Saturday morning on McAlister Drive near the Sharp Hall walkway, according to reports from Tulane University Police Department. 

The student was walking along McAlister when an unknown black male grabbed her purse. A brief altercation occurred and then the student relinquished her jewelry to the man, who fled towards Freret Street. 

The suspect is black male, aged approximately 20 years old with an average build. He has short hair and is approximately 5 foot 10 inches.
