An 18-wheeler truck hit a tree at approximately 9:30 a.m. Wednesday on Freret Street near Howard-Tilton Memorial Library. The accident caused the front half of the truck roof to cave in, according to driver Chris Watts.

The truck, which belongs to Ross Neely Systems, Inc., appeared to have split in the middle due to the extreme force of its impact. Watts said no people were injured in the accident.

New Orleans Police Department responded to the scene but declined to give a comment.
