A woman was robbed at gunpoint at 11:56 p.m. Oct. 1 at the intersection of S. Carrollton Avenue and Burthe Street, according to the New Orleans Police Department Superintendent’s major offense log.

The victim was riding her bike and paused to use her phone. The assailant approached the victim from behind, demanded her belongings and, after she complied, fled.

It is unclear at this time whether this armed robbery is connected to the armed robbery that occurred Sept. 28 on S. Carrollton Avenue, when a woman was robbed at her mailbox.

NOPD is in the early stages of its investigation, and detectives are still determining the suspect’s identity.

“Once the suspect is identified we will also determine what other crimes the suspect is responsible for,” NOPD Public Information Officer Garry Flot said.
