Two robberies reported Sunday within one mile of each other

Two robberies were reported Sunday morning Uptown within one mile of each other. The first took place at 2:57 a.m. near the intersection of Willow and Adams streets and the second at 3:14 a.m. on the 2200 block of Lowerline Street. Tulane University Police Department issued a crime alert about both incidents around 11:20 a.m. Sunday.

The first robbery took place near 7720 Willow Street, according to the New Orleans Police Department major offense log. Two female non-affiliates were approached by an armed man who demanded their money and property. The suspect struck one of the women after she refused to comply. After she was hit, she forfeited her property, and the armed man fled in an unknown direction. There was also a second subject with no description available.

The armed man is described as black, 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-6, approximately 150 pounds and wearing a dark colored beanie, gray shirt, jeans and gray Nike shoes. He was armed with a silver revolver with a black handle.

The second robbery involved an armed subject who approached a female non-affiliate, snatched her purse and fled. The suspect is described as a black man, 5-foot-10 to 6-feet, slender build and wearing a white T-shirt and jeans. He was armed with a silver revolver with a black handle.
