Tulane men’s basketball (13-5, 4-2) won another close conference game, defeating the Houston Cougars 68-65 on the road.

Junior guard Louis Dabney led all Wave scorers with 18 points and sophomore guard Jonathan Stark chipped in for 15 points.

The Green Wave opened up the game on an 8-0 run, but ended the first half tied with the Cougars at 33 apiece. A back and forth second half ensued, with the Wave trailing in the final five minutes of the game. However, Tulane rallied back to take the lead, with Stark sinking four free throws in the final five seconds to seal the game.

The Wave out-rebounded Houston 37-26, and shot 16-20 from the free throw line. With the win, Tulane improved to 13-5 on the season and 4-2 in the American Athletic Conference. This is the third win the Green Wave have had this season on the road. Tulane plays its next game Wednesday at home against SMU.
