Man robs Tulane affiliates Thursday on State Street

Tulane affiliates reported an armed robbery to Tulane University Police Department, which occurred at 7:44 p.m. Thursday on State Street, according to the TUPD daily activity report. 

The victims said they were walking down Willow Street and when they reached State Street, a man armed with a silver automatic handgun approached from behind. The man demanded the victims give him their property and then continue walking. The victims conceded and continued walking until they met two unknown passersby and called the police. 

The victims also reported the incident to New Orleans Police Department, who is investigating. 

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-10-inch tall black man who weighs approximately 160 pounds. He was wearing pants, a black short sleeve and a black mask over his face.
