With numerous players signing for the football team, volleyball team and bowling team, Tulane is ready to usher in a fresh wave of talent.

Football

On Feb. 6  Green Wave football coach Willie Fritz added a wide range of players on both sides of the ball, including recent Brown University graduate and MBA student Christian Montano. Montano, along with sophomore signee Nick Anderson, and fellow graduate school student Jalen McCleskey, will bring some veteran experience to an otherwise fresh signing class.

Mississippi native and defensive back Kiland Harrison rounds out the group of 19 freshmen, adding a needed burst of speed. In his quest to be crowned fastest man in NOLA last May, Harrison posted a 4.25-second 40-yard dash at a joint camp with Tulane and Louisiana State University.

On the other side of the ball, weighing in at 6’2” and 305 pounds, incoming freshman offensive lineman Sincere Haynesworth will provide heavyweight-caliber protection for quarterback Justin McMillan.

The Green Wave Football team also added two cornerbacks, one defensive lineman, four offensive linemen, one running back, three safeties, two tight ends, two wide receivers and one joker, a safety who can drop back in coverage but who can also blitz and hit like a linebacker depending on the play call.

Volleyball

Joining previous signees Lauryn Green and Lizzy Stefanov, libero and defensive specialist Jillian Dits completed the the impressive incoming volleyball class when she signed on Jan. 15.

At her high school, Dits completed record-breaking 825 digs in the 2018 season and a 2.6 serve receive average in the 2017 season.

Bowling

In the latest round of signees, the Tulane women’s bowling team snagged impressive student athlete Jenica Baron. Set to graduate high school in the spring with honors, Baron placed 21st in last year’s Illinois state tournament with a score of 276.

Kylie Frick signed with the team in early January as a five-time United States Bowling Congress Junior Gold qualifier and Amelia Vasquez signed in November after winning two consecutive state championships during her sophomore and junior seasons for her Oviedo High School Lions. Together, these three players will serve as incredible assets to the top 15 squad.
