It’s a Mardi party this week in Nola. But this celebration cannot continue on an empty stomach. In order to flaunt your fashionable wardrobe and remain fully energized, food is a must. No need to fear, though, because Arcade is here to make sure you’re in the know about some of New Orleans’ best affordable restaurants along the parade routes.

Reginelli’s

Need a quick bite? Reginelli’s has pizza by the slice, tables for sitting if you’re feet get tired and everyone’s favorite a bathroom. It is located at 5961 Magazine St.

St. James Cheese Company

Aside from the array of cheese and meat selections, they serve great sandwiches that would be a perfect companion when watching parades. Check it out at 641 Tchoupitoulas St.

Guy’s Po Boys

One of the classic Nola restaurants, Guy’s has good prices and is easy-on-the-go. Make your way over to 5259 Magazine St. to pick up this handheld snack.

Whole Foods Market

If you’re a healthier eater, there is still a place for you to be satisfied during Mardi Gras. An alternative to the other restaurants on this list, head over to Whole Foods for rows of organic and fresh picks of vegetables and fruits. This is located on 5600 Magazine St.

Dat Dog

Love hotdogs and fries? Create your own at their food truck located at Foucher Street on the downtown and riverside corner.

Auction House Market

If you’re a picky eater and can’t ever decide what you’re in the mood for, go here for a diverse food court experience. They serve everything from salads and sandwiches to seafood, Thai food and empanadas at 801 Magazine St.

Mother’s

If you’re a breakfast for dinner kind of person, you do not want to miss Mother’s classic New Orleans southern breakfast on 401 Poydras St.

District Donuts

Want to stuff your face with dessert during Mardi Gras? Grab a filling and oversized donut from an array of flavors at 5637 Magazine St. If you’re in need of caffeine, coffee is also available.

Creole Creamery

While the weather in New Orleans is unpredictable, you can never go wrong with ice cream. Not only is this ice cream a great refresher, but their flavors are unique and all homemade. Cash only, so head over to spend your last dollar at 4924 Prytania Street.

While the parades and catching beads in the air are some of the best highlights of Mardi Gras festivities, food is essential for being able to make the most of it. Don’t forget to plan your meals ahead and stick together with friends.
