Whether you’ve decided to stay in New Orleans or head home, there’s a good chance you’re feeling pretty stir crazy right now. Well, thankfully, Arcade has compiled a list of things for you to do in this time of social distancing.
1. “Visit” the Monterey Bay Aquarium
While many non-essential businesses are closed across the country, you can still take a trip to the aquarium! Or, at least, virtually. Tune in to one of the ten live cams offered by the Monterey Bay Aquarium and hang out with the jellyfish for an hour or two.
Learn how to play solitaire
Self-isolating? No problem. Teach yourself how to play the classic one-player card game to pass a few hours of your time. Plus, if you really don’t feel like leaving bed you can play on your laptop.
Teach yourself a new language
The Duolingo owl will find you even in your quarantine, so you might as well use these long days to finally teach yourself French, or maybe even High Valyrian, if you’re into that kind of thing.
Read that long book you’ve been staring at on the shelf
What better time to lock yourself in your room and force yourself to read “Infinite Jest?” With plenty of time to kill, you’ve pretty much run out of excuses for avoiding that dusty book on your shelf. Or, listen to it on audible while you visit the aquarium or play solitaire.
Catch up on TV
Let’s be real, sometimes you don’t have the energy to do anything actually productive during social distancing. Maybe you’ve been meaning to watch “Fleabag,” or perhaps you haven’t gotten around to the last season of “Bojack Horseman” yet. If there ever was a time and an excuse to catch up on some good ol’ television, this is it.
