Tulane police investigate theft of microphone, funds
Two thefts were reported to Tulane University Police Department on Thursday regarding a missing Tulane microphone and a separate incident regarding Tulane funds.
A TUPD officer responded to a report of a stolen Tulane microphone at 12:40 p.m on Thursday.
The reporting person stated that a microphone owned by Tulane, valued at $719, was missing. She last saw the microphone at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday. When she returned at 8:30 a.m. on the same day, she discovered that it was missing.
The reporting person canvassed the area and sent out emails requesting the microphone’s return but was met with no results.
TUPD officers did not observe any surveillance cameras in the area. The Criminal Investigative Department was notified of the incident.
A TUPD officer responded to the second theft report on Thursday.
The reporting person told the officer that she believed she had information regarding a theft or series of thefts totaling $5,965.42 in Tulane funds. She believes these thefts occurred from February 2015 to January 2016.
The reporting person supplied TUPD officers with documents containing information about the thefts, which were forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Department.
