Nicole Dukarm, a Tulane junior charged with one count of negligent homicide, appeared in court on Friday for her first trial. 

Her bond was set at $50,000 according to the Orleans Parish Prison inmate booking information records. Her bond was received Friday around 2 p.m. from a Louisiana bail bond company called Aback Bonding, LLC.

Dukarm’s lawyer is Fred King. Her next court appearance is set for July 17.

Dukarm called 911 Thursday and said her boyfriend accidentally shot himself with his gun. She later confessed that she had been playing with the gun and accidentally fired it, shooting her boyfriend in the face. Emergency Medical Services pronounced the unnamed victim dead on the scene.
