String of thefts occur in Caroline Richardson, off-campus residence
A Tulane affiliate reported to Tulane University Police Department on Tuesday that her Tulane purchase card was stolen out of her unlocked office in Caroline Richardson Building. The card was thought to be stolen around Feb. 21.
Officers later found that the purchase card was used for multiple fraudulent charges. While investigating this incident, officers became aware of two other thefts that occurred in Caroline Richardson on March 3.
In the second theft reported, another Tulane affiliate reported that her iPhone and tablet were stolen from her unsecured office.
A third Tulane affiliate reported that an iPhone charger was also stolen out of her unsecured office on March 3.
There are no cameras located in Caroline Richardson Building, and TUPD was not able to identify a suspect. All three thefts are currently under investigation.
A separate theft was reported on Tuesday at an off-campus residence, when a Tulane affiliate reported that her prescription drugs and wallet containing her Tulane ID and Pennsylvania driver’s license were missing. The resident was unsure of what time she last saw the items and had left the residence unsecured.
TUPD recommends locking all offices or residences prior to leaving for any period of time or if working alone or after normal business hours.
