In honor of the 242 hostages taken by Hamas, Tulane University Students Supporting Israel lined 27 folding tables with blue and white tablecloths, paper plates and cups for a Shabbat Table Installation on Friday.
Thirty-two sippy cups border the table to honor the children hostages. Nine had lids for children under 5.
With support from Rohr Chabad Jewish Student Center and Tulane Hillel, SSI will hold a brief service at 1 p.m. on the academic quad.
Several other college campuses, like Binghamton University and Northeastern University, have also erected empty Shabbat tables to show support for the hostages’ families.
According to the Tulane SSI Instagram, there will be security present.
