Gov. Jeff Landry signed an executive order marking Monday, Oct. 7 as a day of observance to honor victims of Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel. The order requires all U.S. and Louisiana state flags flown over the Louisiana Capitol and state buildings to be half-mast from sunrise to sunset.
“Israel is our greatest ally in the Middle East and Louisiana will always stand strong with them. Today, we stand in solidarity and remembrance of the atrocities Israel suffered on October 7, 2023. We remember the victims and we pray for the hostages,” Gov. Jeff Landry said in a statement.
