In 2023, Tulane’s women’s volleyball team had six wins and 25 losses. The team had no away victories and concluded the season with seven consecutive losses.
This season has been much better: The team has 11 wins and seven losses through Oct. 13, with a win streak of five games last month. Although that win streak was prior to the start of conference play, the team is currently a respectable .500 against American Athletic Conference opponents. The team has already exceeded the number of conference victories they got last year.
Sami Jacobs leads the team with 237.5 points. Avery Burks and Sabrina Skyers have 182.5 and 164 points, respectively. On defense, Sabrina Skyers has the most blocks, with 73. Jordan White and Agata Beksha have 54 blocks and 44 blocks, respectively.
The team statistics for Tulane’s women’s volleyball highlight their strengths and weaknesses. Tulane has 834 kills, while their opponents have 941 kills. That said, Tulane has only 303 errors, while their opponents have 384. Another of Tulane’s strengths is blocks: The Green Wave has 54% more blocks than its opponents.
Overall, this has been a fantastic season for the volleyball team. Many of the most important matches have yet to be played, so consider attending the home match against the University of North Texas on Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. If you are unable to attend, the Green Wave is hosting the University of Texas at San Antonio on Nov. 1 and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte 49ers on Nov. 3.
