On Tuesday, the Tulane University Police Department sent out a warning of a sexual assault that occurred on campus on Feb. 22.
According to the statement, the victim met the suspect at a “local bar.” The suspect asked the victim to show him around campus and then asked to see the victim’s room.
The assault occurred inside the victim’s room in Butler Residence Hall, an undergraduate residence building, according to the TUPD Daily Crime and Fire Log. The statement did not specify what bar at which the two met.
The suspect is unaffiliated with Tulane and was described as a white male around 21 years old with a “thick possibly Irish accent.”
TUPD received the report on Feb. 24 at 8:54 p.m., according to the Daily Activity Report sent to The Hullabaloo. TUPD sent out the warning to all staff, students, administrators and faculty at noon on Feb. 25.
This is an ongoing investigation.
