Through the first 25 games of the season, the Green Wave baseball sits at a strong 17-8 record. 

Looking at the statistics for the Green Wave this season so far, there are a few things that stand out for the early success of this baseball team. On average, the Green Wave is leading opponents in almost every single category. The most impressive fact is that the Green Wave has 37 more runs than their opponents in 27 less at-bats. This stat shows how effective Tulane is at getting on base and scoring runs for their team by any means.

On the pitching and defensive side, which the Green Wave has been looking to improve on from previous seasons, the pitchers have an earned run average of 4.85, which is not horrible. One thing that is impressive about this pitching staff this year is that they have 85 more strikeouts than their opponents thus far. 

As Tulane moves on into conference play, their biggest key to success will be continuing to get on base from walks and hits by pitch. Their ability to get on base despite not getting a base hit is what has led them to win or stay competitive in many ball games. Especially with conference play getting into full swing within the next couple of weeks, what makes a great baseball team is the ability to grind out at-bats and do whatever it takes to get runs. 

If their pitching stays consistent and the earned run average is not raised drastically, they will be in incredible shape for American Athletic Conference play.
