The Hullabaloo is open to all students interested in contributing content or becoming a staff member.

Joining is easy! We take:

  • Writers
  • Designers
  • Illustrators
  • Editors/copy editors
  • Photographers
  • Business associates

The general application form for Spring 2025 is linked here. Writers, copy editors, fact checkers, and photographers whose applications are accepted will receive an email with training session dates/times. Attendance at one 30-45 minute training session is a requirement for contributing.

How to Join

Managing Board is composed of:
  • Editor-in-Chief
  • Managing Editor
  • Chief Copy Editor
  • Digital Director
  • Production Manager
  • Business Manager
  • Personnel Manager

The above positions are open only to general staff, general board and managing board. The tenure of each position is one academic year.

Managing Board applications for the Fall 2025 semester will close at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, March 31. Click here to view applications.

General Board is composed of:
  • Section editors
  • Photography editors
  • Layout editors
  • Social media editors
  • Podcast editors
  • Copy editors
  • Fact checkers

Section editor and photography editor positions are available only to members of general staff, general board and managing board. The tenure of each position is one semester. For the Spring semester, sitting board members need not reapply; applications will only open for vacated positions.

General Board applications for the Fall 2025 semester will close at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, April 14. Click here to view applications.

General Staff is composed of:
  • Staff writers
  • Staff photographers
  • Business associates
  • Distribution manager

Contributors may apply to become a staff writer or photographer after having 3 stories published. To become a staff writer or photographer, contact your section editor(s) expressing your interest. The determination of which contributors become staff members is made entirely by the section editors and Editor-in-Chief, and is made based on the quality of previous work and the number of current staff members.
