Student refuses drug deal, gets threatened with knife

While walking along Newcomb Circle towards Drill Road at 1:41 a.m. Sunday, two white men asked a student if he wanted to purchase drugs. The student declined and walked away. The two men then approached the victim from behind, pulled out a knife, and demanded the student hand over the six-pack of beer he was carrying. The student handed over the beer and the suspects fled the scene, according to reports from Tulane University Police Department. 

The suspects were described as two white men in their early twenties, both approximately 5’11” and 175 pounds. One was wearing a blue shirt and jeans, the other was wearing a burgundy shirt and jeans. 

The incident was reported at 3:52 p.m. Monday but the crime occurred at 1:41 a.m. on Sunday. TUPD sent out a crime alert to the Tulane community at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The investigation is ongoing.
