BUKU 2017 releases initial lineup

So long Voodoo Music + Arts Experience, hello BUKU Music + Art Project. The springtime festival will take place March 10 and 11 at Mardi Gras World, located next to the Convention Center in the Lower Garden District. With The Hangout Music Festival recently announcing its lineup, it only makes sense for BUKU to follow, announcing artists such as Zeds Dead, Travis Scott and ZHU as headliners for 2017’s list of talent.

For diehard deadmau5 fans whose disappointment over last year’s Voodoo cancellation still lingered, the wait is finally over. deamau5 will be one of the headliners for BUKU this year. Other artists listed for BUKU 2017 include rappers Vince Staples, Young Thug and 21 Savage. Indie act Tycho, rising EDM star Jauz and Russian techno DJ Nina Kraviz will also be performing. These acts are only a few of the many announced for this year’s lineup.

There are several additional performers to be announced once the new year has begun. Until then, 2-day passes will go on sale at 11 a.m. CT on Dec. 8. General Admission tickets will go for $189.99. Portions of the proceeds from tickets support The Upbeat Academy Foundation, an educational program in New Orleans for kids to learn about musical production.
