Tulane student, faculty member report off-campus burglaries
A student and faculty member reported two separate incidents of off-campus burglaries to Tulane University Police Department.
The student reported to TUPD that she was away from Saturday, Dec. 24 to Friday, Dec. 30. When she returned to her home on the 7800 block of St. Charles at approximately 4 p.m. on Dec. 30, she realized that the lock to the front door of her apartment had been broken.
The student reported that she did not believe anything was stolen from her home.
A faculty member reported to TUPD that he was away from Sunday, Dec. 18 to Saturday, Dec. 31. When he returned to his home on the 2100 block of Lowerline Street at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 31, he discovered that the back window of his house had been broken. The faculty member reported that it appeared as if someone had entered his home, though nothing was discovered missing at the time.
Two other residential burglaries were reported to New Orleans Police Department during the same period of time. On Dec. 30, one residential burglary was reported on the corner of Jefferson Avenue and Lasalle Street, and a second burglary was reported on the 7800 block of St. Charles Avenue.
