Tulane Police respond to car theft, off-campus tire slashing
The following crimes were reported to Tulane University Police Department Tuesday.
Vehicle burglary:
A TUPD officer responded to a report of a car burglary on Tuesday morning. The individual said he believed his car was accessed through an unlocked door.
The car was parked at approximately 6:30 p.m. Monday. The man returned to his car at approximately 7:05 a.m. Tuesday and realized someone had been inside the vehicle. The only thing reported missing was loose change.
The Saratoga Garage security cameras revealed an unknown subject checking for unlocked doors on several vehicles. The subject entered the garage at 12:08 a.m. Tuesday. Footage placed the subject entering the reported car at 12:52 a.m.
Criminal damage to property:
TUPD received a report that the resident’s vehicle tires had been cut Tuesday at their off-campus residence on the 1000 block of Audubon Street.
The incident was also reported to New Orleans Police Department.
