A female Tulane student reported to Tulane University Police Department that she was sexually assaulted at 8 p.m. Saturday on Broadway Street walking towards Claiborne Avenue.

The student reported that an unknown man approached her from behind, threw her on the lawn and sexually assaulted her.

A witness saw the attack and shouted that they were calling the police and the attacker fled towards Claiborne Avenue.

A nearby camera was able to get a picture of the suspect, but New Orleans Police Department and TUPD are continuing to search the area for him.

The suspect is described as a black or Hispanic male, dark complexion, 5-foot-7, 150 pounds, thin build, skinny blue jeans, white T-shirt, low haircut and armed with a semi-automatic handgun which is blue steel in color.
