Tulane athletics makes student tickets available online
August 23, 2015
Securing tickets for Tulane games just became easier for students. Tulane Athletics made the move to a mobile ticketing platform with Ticketmaster, allowing students to claim their tickets for each game online.
An email was sent out Saturday to the student body with a link to the login, as well as a username and password specific to each student’s account. The email includes instructions for picking up tickets online, as well as protocol on how to change the password.
“Our goal is to make it as convenient as possible for a student to attend an event,” Executive Associate Athletic Director Brandon Macneill said.
In previous years, students had to make time in their schedule to go to the Wilson Center and physically pick up a ticket. With the return of football to campus last year, students waited in long lines to claim tickets. After the student tickets for the season opener in Yulman sold out in two days, Tulane Athletics made 500 additional tickets available to students who had not found the time to pick them up yet. With the ticketing office opening at 8:30 a.m., students began lining up at 4 a.m. to ensure they could get their tickets.
“Last year when we opened this thing it was a little crazy,” Macneill said. “Instead of making students who are so busy all the time to walk down here on Monday morning to pick up a ticket, now you can just log in. Every student who is registered will get an email from us with their login and you just set up your account and you see all the games that are available.”
Students may claim tickets online for every Tulane athletic event; however, if a student claims tickets for two games in a row but does not show up, they will be barred from claiming tickets for the next game. Though if space is still available, the student may show up with their splash card and gain entrance.
