Weekend crime report: March 17 – 19

The following crimes were reported to Tulane University Police Department between Friday and Sunday.

Simple burglary:

Officers met with a student at 12:56 p.m Sunday who stated that someone broke into his residence hall room .

The student said he left his room in Sharp Hall unlocked for about four hours. When he returned, his electronic cigarette was missing, and a piece of partially burned paper was on his desk.

No cameras in the building captured the area near his door. Officers notified the Criminal Investigative Division and the Student Affairs Professional On-Call was also notified.

Bicycle theft:

At 3:16 p.m. Sunday, officers went to Barbara Greenbaum House at Newcomb Lawn to meet with a student who said his bicycle was missing.

The student said he last saw his bicycle locked at the bike racks between Butler Hall and Weatherhead on Saturday at 4 p.m. When he returned at approximately 3 p.m. on Sunday, the bike was gone.

The student previously registered the bicycle with TUPD and a bulletin will be completed by the officers.
