A 45-year-old man driving a forklift collided with a streetcar at around 4:30 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Audubon Street and Saint Charles Avenue, the New Orleans Police Department said in a press release.

The forklift driver attempted to pass the oncoming streetcar when he was struck and became partially trapped underneath it. Emergency personnel were able to remove the man. In addition to the man, two streetcar passengers were transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. 

NOPD is currently investigating the incident.
