A homeowner shot and killed a man in his front yard on the 1900 block of Fern Street, the New Orleans Police Department said.

NOPD spokesperson Garry Flot said officers responded to the call of a shooting at about 10 a.m. 

Detectives are currently questioning the homeowner.

Update: 5:01 p.m.

NOPD has booked 31-year-old Bradley Parvez with second degree murder in connection to the shooting incident, an NOPD press release states. The coroner will release the name of the deceased after the family is notified. An autopsy will also be performed.
