Man attempts to kidnap 20-year-old woman on Oak Street

A man attempted to kidnap a 20-year-old woman at around 3 a.m. Saturday on the 7600 block of Oak Street. New Orleans Police Department is currently investigating the case.
According to a NOPD press release, the woman was walking after leaving a bar and noticed an unknown man following her. The man walked passed the victim and attempted to open the door of parked vehicle nearby. The man proceeded to pull out a knife and held it to the left side of the woman’s neck. He then forced her to walk with him to the 1100 block of Lowerline Street, where he began touching her inappropriately.
The woman was able to break away after seeing two unknown men walking on the street. She began to scream as she ran toward them, and the suspect fled in an unknown direction.
The suspect is described as white or Hispanic, five-foot-eight and having a large build. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt.
