Weekend Crime Report: October 6-8
Unauthorized entry into an inhabited dwelling:
Tulane University Police Department officers responded to a report of an unauthorized attempt to enter a bedroom in Aron Residences on Friday.
The victim stated that she observed a male subject attempting to enter her bedroom bedroom window at 3:40 a.m. The subject fled the location in an unknown direction.
The Criminal Investigative Unit was notified and processed the scene. Camera footage was recovered, and two subjects were identified. The subjects were later identified as the victim’s roommate’s close friends.
Theft:
TUPD officers responded to a walk-in complaint of a theft at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
The victim stated that he lost his wallet outside his room in Phelps House. The victim reported knowing he had his wallet around 2:00 and 2:30 a.m. At 11 a.m., his parents were notified of fraudulent activity on his debit card.
A Maxient report was completed.
Access Device Fraud:
At 7:59 p.m. Sunday, a TUPD officer was dispatched to a report of a debit card theft at Bruff Commons.
The subject reported that she had left a debit card on a table at 9:30 a.m. Saturday inside Bruff Commons. She returned to look for it at 6:30 p.m. to find that someone had turned it over to the manager, who gave the debit card back to her.
On Sunday, the reporting person found that an unauthorized purchase had been made on her account.
The on-call detective was notified, and a Maxient report was completed.
