Two carjackings, one armed robbery reported near Uptown campus Saturday
Three separate crimes were reported to the Tulane University Police Department by the New Orleans Police Department at approximately 9:50 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25. The crimes, one of which was committed against a Tulane University faculty member, all occured in the Uptown area.
According to the official TUPD Crime Alert sent out to the Tulane community, the incidents occurred as follow:
Incident 1: Armed robbery in the 5400 block of Lasalle Street.
Incident 2: A carjacking in the 2200 block of Octavia Street.
Incident 3: A carjacking in the 5400 block of S. Robertson Street.
According to the Crime Alert, it is believed all three incidents occurred within 20 minutes of each other and were perpetrated by the same suspects.
