Tulane swim and dive began their 2022-23 campaign at the LSU Natatorium on Sept. 23 with a meet against the LSU Tigers and the Vanderbilt Commodores. Although both the Tigers and Commodores bested the Green Wave in the team standings, Tulane ended with good finishes in individual events.

Leading the way for the Green Wave is the 2020 Olympian, Danielle Titus. In the 100-yard backstroke, Titus finished second while teammate Riley Hendrix finished in fourth. In the 200-yard backstroke, Titus again finished in second. Mya Drost-Parra and Gianna Spremullo were the next two Tulane swimmers to touch the wall, finishing in fifth and sixth respectively.

Tulane’s other success of the day was in the 4×100-yard freestyle relay where the Green Wave took third. The swimmers in this relay were Isabella Lojewski, Olcaytu Hatipoglu, Samantha Krew and Grace Dale.

The Green Wave also took fourth place in three other events — Lojewski in the 200-yard freestyle, Dale in the 50-yard freestyle and Elena Gingras in the 1000-yard freestyle.

Tulane will next swim at the Osprey Invite hosted by the University of North Florida on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1.
