Tulane football has garnered several all-conference honors as the awards were announced on Nov. 30. Tyjae Spears won American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year and Willie Fritz won AAC Coach of the year.

So far this season, Spears has 1,177 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns, along with 240 receiving yards and two touchdowns. As for Fritz, his selection was unanimous as he turned the team from a 2-10 squad in 2021 to a 10-2 team with home field advantage in the AAC Championship game.

The AAC also released their all-conference first and second teams as well as honorable mentions. Six Tulane players made the first team — Spears, Dorian Williams, Sincere Haynesworth, Prince Pines, Jarius Monroe and Macon Clark

Seven players made the second team — Michael Pratt, Jha’Quan Jackson, Casey Glover, Nick Anderson, Patrick Jenkins, Darius Hodges and Joey Claybrook.

Larry Brooks and Tyrick James were the only players to make the honorable mentions list.
