The Tulane University Police Department evacuated the Lavin-Bernick Center for Student Life after smoke was spotted inside The Hullabaloo newsroom on Monday afternoon.

This is the second building evacuated today due to a fire hazard. Earlier, Howard-Tilton Memorial Library was evacuated due to a powerline coming down on Freret Street. It is unclear whether the two incidents are connected.

After ten minutes, the all-clear signal was given for the LBC with the exception of the Hullabaloo newsroom.

This is a developing story and may be updated as information becomes available.
