A Loyola University student escaped an armed carjacking attempt early Monday near the school’s campus on St. Charles Avenue, authorities told the Loyola Maroon and WWL-TV.
The student was leaving a parking lot on the Broadway campus around 2 a.m. on Jan. 22 when a white Kia Soul with two men pulled in front of her, the news outlets reported. The man in the passenger seat approached her with a handgun, police told both outlets.
The woman fled across the curb and around the suspect’s car, authorities said.
Police found the Kia and one suspect. Police have not identified the suspect because he is a minor, the Maroon reported Wednesday. An investigation is ongoing.
