Tulane University announced its new chief of the Tulane University Police Department, Frank Young Jr., on Friday.
Former Tulane police Chief Kirk Bouleyas will now serve as the associate vice president of Public Safety and Community Engagement. Bouleyas has served as chief of police for Tulane since 2018.
Young has served as the deputy chief of Patrol Operations for Tulane since 2022 and is a former commander of the 5th Police District for the New Orleans Police Department and the Criminal Investigations Division.
Young will oversee the law enforcement agency that works with police services for the Uptown campus, downtown campus and the National Primate Research Center in Covington, Louisiana.
“Keeping our community safe is our top priority, and we are honored to have Chief Young oversee these efforts,” Tulane said in the announcement.
