A student reported that a burglary occurred at their home at 5:55 a.m. Tuesday morning on the 7200 block of Spruce Street. 

The student said that they woke up due to lights being turned on in the living room of their apartment. They went into the living room and saw an unknown man inside. 

The student confronted the unknown man, who stated that he was just leaving and exited the residence through the main entrance. After the man left, the student realized that a backpack and laptop computer were missing. 

The unknown man had entered the home through the front door, which was unlocked.   

The student described the subject as a black male between 40 and 50 years old that appeared to be 165-175 lbs. The man was wearing a brown t-shirt, a brown knit hat and green sweat pants. 

The incident was reported to reported to Tulane University Police Department. New Orleans Police Department is working with TUPD in this investigation.
