Two Loyola students report armed robbery

An armed robbery was reported to the New Orleans Police Department at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27 near the intersection of Cherokee and Freret streets, according to a NOPD report.

Two Loyola students were walking near the intersection when a subject approached them from behind and ordered them to place their property on the ground. The subject was described as a black male in his twenties with a thin build, approximately 5-foot-9-inches to 5-foot-10-inches tall, dressed in a black hoodie and armed with a firearm. After placing their property on the ground, the students ran from the subject after being ordered by him to do so.

Tulane University Police Department was notified on Thursday about the incident and sent a crime alert out to the Tulane student body.
