A non-affiliate reported that he was assaulted by two men at 1:45 p.m. Friday while in the first floor men’s restroom of Howard-Tilton Memorial Library, according to reports from Tulane University Police Department.

The victim reported that he was approached by two males carrying a weapon who threatened him before fleeing the library.

One suspect is a black male, aged in his early 20s, with a medium build wearing a white T-shirt and denim jeans. He is armed with some type of firearm. The other suspect is also a black male in his 20s with a thin build and dreadlocks. He is reportedly wearing a white T-shirt and red shorts.

TUPD is investigating this crime and working to confirm the allegations. If you have any information about these crimes, call TUPD at 504-865-5381.

Original reports from TUPD stated that the victim was approached by two males in the bathroom and that one of the suspects lifted his shirt, revealing a firearm tucked into his waistband.

Upon further investigation, TUPD updated the reports, saying that the victim never saw a weapon at the scene of the crime and that the two suspects, who were originally reported to be non-affiliates, were actually Tulane students.

Both the TUPD Uptown and Downtown districts performed extensive searches for the subjects but did not locate them.
