TUPD and NOFD respond to fire in Sharp Residential Hall

The Tulane University Police Department and New Orleans Fire Department responded to a fire at 8:15 p.m. Monday on the sixth floor of Sharp Residential Hall.

The fire was caused by a burning pile of trash on the sixth floor near the elevator.

The TUPD officer responding extinguished the fire. NOFD arrived to make sure the scene was safe.

The Criminal Investigative Unit was notified and security camera footage will be reviewed.
