Faster than a speeding bullet! More powerful than a locomotive! Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound! These racing wiener dogs will make you more than just blush once the gates lift and they go streaking! 

On Saturday March 7, New Orleans’ speediest galloping sausages participated in the annual Wiener Dog Races at the Fair Grounds Race Course to crown the Wiener Dog Champion. Participants in the competition were selected at random due to widespread desire from many dog owners to show off their talented pups. 

The dog races were held in between thoroughbred horse races, and following four heats of intensely adorable high speed competition, 2019 champion, Andouille, reclaimed its crown.

With another dominant performance, Andouille fans throughout Orleans Parish grow giddy with thoughts of weiner racing dynasty on their minds.
