On March 14, Tulane University announced that Dr. Ken Jeong had been selected to give the commencement address to the class of 2022. Jeong will speak to freshly minted Tulane alumni at the Unified Commencement Ceremony, which will take place at Yulman Stadium on Saturday, May 21.

In announcing the selection, President Fitts remarked that Jeong is the ideal candidate to deliver the commencement address because he is both “accomplished in one of the academic disciplines” — Jeong worked as a medical doctor prior to acting — and is also “a well-known and beloved celebrity.”

Jeong also has connections to both New Orleans and Tulane University. While honing his stand-up skills in New Orleans comedy clubs in the ‘90s, Jeong conducted research in Gastroenterology at Tulane University School of Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Ochsner Medical Center.
