A federal appeals court backed two students suing Tulane University for partial tuition refunds during online learning amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Advocate|Times-Picayune reported

The students said they want a partial refund for services they paid for but did not receive after the school transitioned to online learning in March 2020. Tulane said all incoming students sign a policy that states refunds are not available even if students do not use certain services covered by tuition.

The ruling argued choice to use services differs from whether those services are accessible. U.S. District Court will further consider the suit.
