At 2:14 a.m. on Nov. 9, two students reported to Tulane University Police Department that a man threatened them with a gun.

The students were walking down Maple Street and stopped to speak with an unknown man in front of 7523 Maple St. regarding the presidential election.

The man then pulled out a pistol and threatened the two students.

TUPD officers responded to assist New Orleans Police Department officers with apprehending the suspect. The suspect was arrested inside his house.

NOPD was attempting to secure a search warrant of the residence and was unable to provide the name of the suspect during this attempt because the man would not cooperate.

Officers informed the students of available resources if they needed any further assistance or counseling.
