A bubble tea store called Beauxba Tea will replace the PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans in the Howard-Tilton Memorial Library this school year. This is one of several changes as a result of Tulane University’s new partnership with Aramark Collegiate Hospitality.
“Eight new Grubhub kiosks where students, faculty and staff can order and pay for their food are other new additions to LBC dining,” according to Tulane’s press release.
Along with the new kiosks come new restaurants, including NONY’s, Shake Smart and Twisted Taco.
“There isn’t one way that restaurants are decided upon, but rather a continuous collaboration between Tulane Hospitality and University administration, faculty, staff, and students,” Tulane Hospitality said in a statement to The Hullabaloo.
Student input was an important part of the process of selecting new dining options.
“A combination of survey data, purchasing behaviors, plus national and local trends are a few of the factors considered when proposing new partners,” Tulane Hospitality’s statement said. “A good example would be how we decided upon Twisted Taco.”
Tulane Hospitality held a tasting menu session of Twisted Taco last spring with two dozen students. The students voted 22-2 in favor of the restaurant’s campus debut.
Virtual comment cards are another new addition in The Dining Room at Malkin Sacks Commons; students can scan stickers with their phones to leave feedback on the dining options.
