Former chief operating officer of Southern New Hampshire University Amelia Manning started her new position as dean of Tulane University’s School of Professional Advancement this month. She is replacing Suri Duitch, who stepped down in January of 2024 to take the role of interim president at Kingsborough Community College in New York.
SoPA is geared towards working adults continuing education. It first opened as the School of Continuing Studies in 2006 after Hurricane Katrina, but was renamed in 2017. The school offers programs in information technology, emergency and security studies, public administration and education.
“We are thrilled to welcome her [Manning] to Tulane, where her leadership will help SoPA reach more students and support them in achieving their academic and professional goals,” President Mike Fitts said in The Tulanian.
