A new Chipotle Mexican Grill location will be coming to Freret Street later this year, Chipotle senior analyst Annie Gradinger said.

The made-to-order Tex-Mex chain only has one other location in New Orleans on Magazine Street in the Garden District. 

The new store is under construction next to the Cava at 5001 Freret St. The space was previously occupied by a Blaze Pizza, which has since closed. No reason was given for the closure.

“We are always looking for communities where we can serve responsibly sourced, classically-cooked, real food and establish new local partnerships, and the Uptown Freret Street area is a great fit,” Gradinger said.
