New Orleans Police Department officers and agents from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security executed a search warrant near the intersection of St. Charles Avenue and Broadway Street Tuesday afternoon.

The search warrant is in relation to an ongoing investigation, authorities say. According to WDSU, officers placed an individual into a police cruiser. A plainclothes officer told The Hullabaloo that the investigation is drug and gun-related. Other details of the case were not disclosed. 

Law enforcement officers were seen carrying several boxes out of the house, and police K9s were also on the scene. Police were also seen carrying breaching equipment.

Tulane University spokesperson Mike Strecker told The Hullabaloo that the individual taken by police was not affiliated with the university.
