Tulane University School of Law graduate Charles Wall was named deputy director of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Wednesday, according to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. 

Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem announced Wall’s appointment on X after former ICE Deputy Director Madison Sheahan announced she was leaving her position to run for Congress. 

Wall earned his undergraduate degree from the University of New Orleans before serving as an ICE attorney in New Orleans for the last 14 years. 

Before joining ICE, Wall worked at the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office from 2009 to 2012.

“[Wall] is a forward-leaning, strategic thinker who understands the importance of prioritizing the removal of murderers, rapists, pedophiles, gang members, and terrorists from our country. I look forward to working with him in his new role to make America safe again,” Noem said in a Homeland Security press release.
