The Tulane University baseball team finished with 33 wins and 25 losses in 2025.
As expected, Tulane thrived outside its conference, winning 20 games and losing 11. Playing at home also proved an advantage, as the Green Wave won over 60% of home games compared to 45% of away games. The season had an exciting start and finish, starting with a four-game win streak and concluding with a conference championship appearance.
The Green Wave hit well for contact last season. The team batting average was .281. They also hit more doubles and triples than their opponents. The pitching staff did a phenomenal job striking batters out by throwing 547 strikeouts as a team, nearly 10 per game. Tulane’s opponents racked up 423 strikeouts against them, about seven per game. The pitchers also displayed commendable accuracy, allowing fewer walks than their opponents.
The 2025 regular season record does not fully reflect the recent accomplishments of the Green Wave baseball team. Tulane won the American Conference Championship in 2023 and 2024 while also being the runner-up in 2025.
Compared to that of other sports, baseball’s most talented teams have lower winning percentages, creating a more level playing field in college and professional baseball. That makes Tulane’s three-consecutive championship appearances and back-to-back championships an impressive feat.
As the football team did in early December, the baseball team has an opportunity to appear in the conference championship for the fourth consecutive season.
Tulane starts its season on the West Coast to play three games against Loyola Marymount University and one game against the University of California, Los Angeles.
The home opener will be against Harvard University on Feb. 20 at 6:30 p.m., the start of a three-game series. Conference play begins with a three-game home series against the University of Memphis, which begins on March 20. With no Major League Baseball teams in New Orleans, Turchin Stadium is a great place to watch a baseball game during the spring semester, especially for students.
